This Polish musician, once a member of Miasto Nie Spalo, now workssolo. Here he has two parts of ‚Cirr’s Songs’, which are about arecurring dream about drowning. Drowning not droning, but as the musicaloutcome, it is very much about drone music.Whatever the input might be (field recordings perhaps), the outcome isvery beautiful pieces of drone music. Soft, gentle waves of processedsound, with microscopic details at the bottom end of this. The b-sidehas a slightly more rhythmic touch.Frans de Waard/Vital Weekly no. 492

Grabowski is a young Polish soundmaker now relocated in Dublin, with acouple of releases under his belt, on Laub and his own Silence Is NotEmpty label. Grabowski may be young but he surely doesn’t lack talentand a refined style. Both „songs” are based on subdued, far-away dronesand concrete elements (dripping water, a creaking door…), and theartist knows well how to weave captivating and emotionally engagingsoundscapes with those minimal elements only.Grabowski’s approach to minimal music reminds of great artists likeMirror, Coleclough, or Monos – my favorite ep of the new Drone batch. This 7″ comes in a black cover with a photo and, oddly enough, on blackvinyl.
